Parade Application

PARADE RULES:

Date of parade: Saturday, September 25, 2010
Line-up time: Everyone must be in place by 9:00 a.m.
Parade start time: 10:00 a.m.

Children under the age of 10 need to be on a vehicle or a float for safety reasons.

Prohibited candy:

  • Any candy with a stick (lollipops) as there is an eye injury hazard.
  • Light candy like sweet tarts. The light candy is too light to be tossed to the crowds and children will run into the street to get it. To avoid potential injury, make sure the candy is not light weighted.

All candy must be tossed to the feet of the crowd or must be handed to them by a person walking next to the vehicles. No candy should be tossed into the air or at someone's head.

For-profit organizations must be sponsors to participate in the parade.

Political Affilications

Politicians running for office must walk with their party. Each party is allowed one float entry. Politicians that currently hold a seat that represent the Duluth area are allowed to participate and will have a vehicle provided. However, an application is still required to avoid errors.
